103 days of education session passed, textbooks could not be distributed among children
103 days have passed since the academic session started, but so far free textbooks have not been distributed to the children studying in the council schools. So far only 15 percent textbooks have come from the directorate. Delivery will start after verification. In such a situation, the children are compelled to study without a book. Disturbed parents were seen reaching the school and demanding textbooks from the teachers. Seeing their furious attitude, the teachers are sweating.
1.56 lakh children are studying in 1060 primary schools and 442 upper primary schools in the district. Schools are closed due to corona infection. Online learning is going on. Only about 50 percent children have been able to join online education. 103 days of the education session have passed, but the government has not distributed free textbooks to the children.
Only about 15 percent of the textbooks have come from the directorate. 11 lakh free textbooks are to come from the department. Till now only about 57 thousand books of class six, about 27 thousand of class three and about 11 thousand of class one books have been received. If sources are to be believed, the purchase order of textbooks was sought from the government level for a long time. Due to this problem is coming.
Even after the verification is done, the process of book distribution will start. The school has been opened by the government from July 1, but due to non-availability of textbooks to the children, the troubled parents are reaching the school and demanding textbooks for the children. The parents said that the children are not getting the benefits of the welfare schemes launched by the government. Children are unable to study due to lack of books. In this regard, District Coordinator Community Partnership Brijbihari Pandey says that the consignment of free textbooks is continuously coming. Delivery will be started after the verification process.
