141 crore budget sought for pre primary, computer and vocational education

Education officers of Himachal Pradesh made their presentation in the meeting of the Project Approval Board held in Delhi to take the budget of 141 crores in the Strengthening Teaching Learning and Result for States (STARS) project. The amount received from this project is to be spent on pre-primary, computer and vocational education. On Tuesday, a meeting will be held again under the chairmanship of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education. In this meeting, Himachal may get a stamp on the budget to be received in the Stars project. In the meeting held on Monday, the education officers of the state apprised the central officials about their DPR. Departmental officials said that the facilities in the schools will be increased from the budget received in the STARS project.

Government schools will be provided facilities on the lines of private schools. Pre-primary schools will be strengthened. Special campaigns will be launched to increase the number of children in schools. Emphasizing on computer education in government schools, more and more computer systems will be installed. Teachers training centers will be modernized. There will be changes in teacher training. New methods will be adopted for collecting MIS data. The scope of vocational education will be further expanded. Apart from Himachal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha and Maharashtra have been included in the STARS scheme.
