In Uttar Pradesh, schools of classes 9 to 12 of any board will not be able to take internal assessment or home examinations. The examinations will be postponed till 20 May. The Department of Secondary Education has issued an order in this regard.

Earlier on Thursday, the state government announced the postponement of 10th 12th board of UP board and examinations of universities and colleges. University and college examinations have been deferred till May 15 and board examinations till May 20. At the moment, new dates for the examinations have not been announced. A decision will be taken on the examinations in the first week of May.

Along with this, a decision has been taken to keep schools and colleges closed till 12th of May in the state. Earlier, the examinations were postponed due to panchayat elections in the state. This time more than 56 lakh students are going to appear in the 10th and 12th board examinations of Uttar Pradesh. The decision to postpone the examinations in Uttar Pradesh was taken at a high level meeting held on Thursday, 15 April under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Earlier, on Wednesday, in a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Central Government had decided to cancel the Central Board of Secondary Education i.e. CBSE Class 10 and postpone the Class 12 examination. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank gave this information by tweeting. 

Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, which is going to complete 100 years of its establishment, is not just of the country but it is the largest board of education in the world. This year is also its centenary year. Talking about the present form of UP board, the number of students who are going to sit in the board exams of academic session this time is more than the population of many countries of the world. This time more than 56 lakh students are going to participate in Uttar Pradesh’s 10th and 12th board examinations.
