Till now, students get a bachelor’s degree by taking the subject according to the faculty. Those who study with three subjects in the Faculty of Arts get a BA degree. The Bachelor of Science degree is awarded on taking three subjects from the Faculty of Science, B.Sc and taking commerce, B.Com. The Bachelor’s degree in New Education Policy is credit-based. Students will be awarded a degree in the faculty from which they obtain a minimum of 60% credit in three years. In Masters also, the same subject will be allowed to study further.

 If a student completes his bachelor’s degree by taking one subject each from arts, science, commerce. In this, students who get less than 60 percent credit in any one faculty in three years will be given the degree of Bachelor of Liberal Education instead of BA, BSc.

First Faculty, Then Subject Selection

Under the new education policy, students taking admission in the first year of graduation will have to choose the first faculty from the respective college or university. The colleges will admit the student according to the subject and seat available. Students will choose three main subjects in graduation, in which two main subjects will be taken from their chosen faculty, while the third main subject can be taken from any faculty or from their faculty. Students will also have to take a minor subject in the first four semesters, which will be from another faculty. In addition, students will also have to take a job oriented course every semester.

The Bachelor’s and Master’s first year will consist of 46 credits, consisting of three core subjects, one minor, two co-curriculars and two employable subjects. On passing it you will get a certificate. The second year will have a course of 92 credits. There will be three main subjects, one minor subject, two co-curricular subjects and two employable subjects. On passing it, the student will get a diploma. The third year consists of a course of 138 credits. It will have two core subjects, two co-curriculars, a vocational course and a minor research project.

A bachelor’s degree will be awarded upon completion. There are 194 credits in the fourth year. In this, students will complete a main subject, a minor subject, a research project. Then they will get the mark sheet of Bachelor Degree with Research. The fifth year will be a 246 credit course. It has a main subject, a minor subject, There will be a research project. On passing this, the student will get a master’s degree. After the sixth year, the degree of Post Graduate Diploma in Research will be given. In the seventh and eighth years, PhD degree will be awarded on research, major subject and research.
