Bengal Education Update: ICSE Council will take a decision regarding examinations, seeing the rise of Corona infection
After the cancellation of the 10th examination by the CBSE board and postpone the 12th examination, now other boards are also considering taking new steps. On behalf of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), the Council’s Chief Executive and Secretary G Arathoon informed that the ICSE Council will take a decision regarding the board examinations of the ICSE (10th) and ISC (12th) soon.
No new decision has been taken yet. It should be noted that the Education Minister of Bengal Partha Chatterjee had said that the government will take a decision on the interests of the students at an appropriat time in view of the Covid-19 situation. State Board Examinations (Secondary and Higher Secondary) examinations are scheduled for June. The minister had said that nothing more is necessary than the health of our children and those involved in the examination process.
The state government will take a decision in the interests of the students at the appropriate time, considering the status of Covid-19. On this issue, G Arathoon said that the examination of ICSE and ISC (Theory Paper) is going to start from May 4. We will take a decision regarding the board examinations of ICSE (10th) and ISC (12th) and inform all the concerned schools as soon as possible. A message has been given on the website from the council.
It indicated that due to the situation of Covid, there is a possibility of reshuffling of the examinations. He also said that the board has released the schedule along with all the exam preparations. The city schools have distributed the admit cards. Answer books have been delivered to schools. The schools were allowed to reopen for class 12. The heads of institutes attached to the board have demanded suspension of physical classes on campus due to increase in Covid-19 cases across the country.
