Chandigarh Education Department is constantly breaking the rules, employees are getting upset but the top officials of the department are not making any difference to it. One such case has been seen in the Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector-15. Mali Daljit died here on 13 March. After this, on the basis of compassion, a member of his family was to get a job but after breaking the rules, Vijay Kumar, son of the employee of the Fourth Class Union working in the school was joined on 17 March. Surprisingly, there was no compliance of compassionate rules, nor did any official from the school or education department attend the funeral after the death of the gardener.

In any department, if an employee is working at regular or DC rate and dies while working, then in his place one of the members of the family of the deceased gets a job. This job is given to the same family member who meets the criteria of the department. In this, it is mandatory to have blood relation with the qualifying age group and the deceased person.

Department officials and employees are breaking the rules to benefit their loved ones. According to Ranjit Mishra, the head of the Fourth Class Union, this has already happened to many employees in the education department. On the basis of compassion, Poonam got a job in the fourth class category, which started in the year 2011. Nearly five years later, he was removed from the first DC rate and when Poonam met the officials of the department, he was appointed at the contract rate instead of the DC rate. This led to a cut in Poonam’s salary and other facilities. 

Ranjit said that the employees working on the contract are being fired and their place is being appointed at their DC rate.
