‘Diksha’ became the weapon of basic education during the Corona period

In the Corona era, when there is a strict ban on the influx of children in schools, initiation has emerged as a major weapon for the education of children. The Department of Basic Education has now almost launched basic education on the online platform through this app. For the past several months, emphasis has been given to download this mobile app on the smartphone of parents besides teachers so that children can get the benefit of its digital content.

The scope of initiation app has increased in the last several months. This mobile app became an essential part of basic education with its launching. Audio and visual material related to the syllabus were shown and listened to the children through the QR code given in the books of all the classes. When the schools were closed due to the Corona outbreak, the Director General of School Education and other high officials decided to use the Deeksha app in addition to the online class of teachers to ensure the children’s education at home. It was decided that this should be downloaded on the parents’ smartphone as well so that children can get the text of all subjects sitting at home.

Online training through initiation

These days, the department is providing basic training to the online teachers through the initiation app. Training programs like children’s language, calendar to mathematics and remedial teaching and loyalty are being conducted through the initiation app itself. The program of training of teachers was fixed from July 20, which is continuing till now. This will help the department as well as teachers and will reduce the risk of corona.

Keeps an eye on weaving time

The department continuously reviews the download and weaving time (viewed time) data of the deeksha app. The department has instructed to ensure the initiation app download in the mobile phone of every teacher and smartphone holder parent. A link to the initiation app opens upon scanning the QR code present in every lesson of each subject. There exists subject material related to that lesson. After book distribution it will be easier for children to read in this round. However in rural areas there are also practical problems like network, smartphone availability.
