Under this policy, the weight of children in primary, secondary and senior secondary classes has been reduced in all schools under the directorate.
According to the directorate, excess weight of the bag is dangerous for the health of the students. This causes physical development of children as well as damage to their knees and spinal cord. The directorate clarified to the schools in the circular that only the books prescribed by SCERT, NCERT and CBSE should be implemented.
Along with this, principals and teachers will also have to prepare a timetable for each class so that students do not have to carry more books and notebooks every day. At the same time, for the overall development of the students, they have to be encouraged to read library books, participate actively in sports, arts, culture and co-curricular activities.
Pre-primary students will not have to bring any books and students of classes one and two will have to carry only one notebook. No homework will be given to the students of these classes. Students of all classes will have to make a separate notebook of each subject, in which they will do exercises, project work, unit tests and experiment work. This notebook must be brought according to the timetable. Apart from this, no additional books will be kept in the bag and brought to school.
At the same time, teachers will have to check the students’ bags once every three months and ensure that children do not bring any heavy books to school without the relevant syllabus. If the teacher finds a student’s baggage heavy during the investigation, then it will have to inform the student’s parents about its loss by informing them. The school bag directorate will not hang up in the prayer assembly. Have given directions.
The directorate has asked the students to hang both the slabs on the shoulder. At the same time, it is also said that while waiting for the prayer meeting or school vehicle, the students should remove the bag from the shoulder and keep it down so that there is no load on the shoulders at all times.
