Education city not built even after allotment of 150 acres of land in Chandigarh, now Panchkula will be built on fast track
Even after allotting 150 acres of land, the administration has not been able to develop the Education City in Chandigarh. The educational institutions to which the land was allotted also surrendered it after getting fed up with the policies of the administration. The problem is that only one educational institution, Narsi Munji College, has shown interest in setting up its campus in Sarangpur in the name of Education City. The Haryana government has laid the foundation to take advantage of this failure of the UT administration. After the announcement of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the work of developing Education City in Panchkula has started on fast track.
The work of developing it has started on the vacant land behind Chandi Mandir. The road is being widened. The matter is not limited to the announcement, CM Manohar Lal is also conducting review meetings continuously. Due to strict rules and regulations of Chandigarh and wrong attitude of the officials of the administration, this project got bogged down. Education city was to be developed in Sarangpur
had got. This is the reason why only Narsi Munji Institute has set up its campus in Sarangpur. Due to Corona, its session could not start, otherwise 90 percent of the campus work has been completed. Lease hold project
Due to the failure of most of the big projects of Chandigarh, the land has to be given on lease. The same lease has also become a problem for the allottees of Chandigarh Housing Board. Industries are also facing the brunt of not getting free hold. Education City also got affected by this. This is the reason that in 2013 more than 15 institutes applied in different phases.
Shortlisted too, but the final agreement was not signed. The condition was to lease the land to these institutes only for 33 years. Though it would have been extended for a further 33 years, the institutes did not agree to this. He surrendered the land.
