Education Department releases Rs 814 crore for the salary of 66 thousand government teachers of Bihar

The Education Department of the Government of Bihar has sanctioned Rs 814 crore 39 lakh 51 thousand 100 for the payment of salaries of 66 thousand 104 teachers and the release of this amount has also been ordered. With this amount, these teachers will be paid salary in the financial year 2020-21. 

The 66,104 teachers who have been given amount for payment of salaries include city elementary teachers, block teachers and panchayat teachers working in primary and middle schools of the state. Out of the total 3.23 lakh employed teachers in the state, 66, 104 city, block and panchayat teachers are those who have been appointed to the sanctioned posts under the state government. Their salary is also paid from the funds of the State Government, while the rest of the teachers employed are paid from the head of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. 

For the payment of salary for these teachers in the current financial year, the government made a budget of 23 billion 26 crore 84 lakh 18 thousand rupees. Out of this, two installments have already been given. 814 crores has now been given as the last installment. 

Education Department has instructed all District Education Officers while making the amount for the salary of 66 thousand 104 teachers that only the allocation of the legally employed and working teachers will be paid for the financial year 2020-21 only. The individual responsibility for payment will be with the concerned DEO. At the same time, all DPO establishments have been instructed to withdraw funds from the treasury of the district through CFMS. Prior receipt receipt will be obtained from the planning units. Salary payment of employed teachers will be done through the nodal bank in the light of departmental instruction.
