Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday called for ‘holistic development of students and teachers through quality education’ to help states and Union Territories to achieve the objectives and goals of the new National Education Policy. through Quality Education – SARTHAQ – Sarthak) launched the scheme. 

The School Education and Literacy Department of the Union Ministry of Education has prepared the ‘Sarthak’ scheme. It has been released as part of the Amrit Mahotsava being celebrated to mark 75 years of the country’s independence. On this occasion, the Union Education Minister Nishank appealed to all the parties to use ‘Sarthak’ as a guide towards the compliance of transformative reforms in the field of school education. 

He said that meaningful planning is interactive, flexible and inclusive. 

According to the statement of the Ministry of Education, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prepared a one-year action plan for the new National Education Policy. The states are allowed to adopt and make changes keeping in mind their local needs. 

The Sarthak Yojana has been prepared on the basis of extensive consultation with the states, union territories, autonomous bodies and the suggestions of all the parties. About 7177 suggestions were received in this regard. 

Nishank said that under the Sarthak Yojana, tasks and activities have been defined in such a way that the goals, results and timelines are mentioned. In this, the recommendations of the National Education Policy have been combined with 297 works and responsible agencies and timelines have also been fixed. 304 results have been set for these works.
