‘foundation’ of basic schools shaken in Aurangabad, most posts of teachers vacant

The existence of basic schools in the district is ending. Most of the posts of teachers in schools are lying vacant. Lack of teachers and the foundation of schools in dilapidated old buildings has become very weak today. The education system in schools has collapsed. The father of the nation Bapu had dreamed of basic schools to educate everyone and to realize his dream, Bapu had established basic schools in the first year of independence of the country in 1919 with the dream of skill development of students with education.

In order to make Bapu’s dream come true, the state government established six basic schools in the district in the year 1949. The basic school was opened at Erki, Vishunpur in Dev Block, Rampur Parsa of Kutumba, Dindir Sihadi of Haspura and Ekona of Goh. The villagers donated about 15 acres of land for the erki school. Similarly, the villagers had established the school by donating land for all the basic schools. When the school opened, many resources were made available for the skill development of the students. Charkha was given for cotton cutting. Charkha was used in all schools for many years of the founding period. Gardening was done.

Today, not only the spinning wheel, horticulture and cotton cutting have stopped in schools but basic schools have started to cease to exist due to lack of teachers. There is not a single basic teacher in Dadir and Ekona due to which the school is on the verge of closure. The only headmaster in Rampur Parsa is a regular of basic grade and three teachers are on deputation.

In Erki, the headmaster and a teacher are of basic grade, the school is being run with the help of 6 employed teachers. One regular and 4 employed in Vishunpur and 2 regular and two employed teachers are employed in Sihadi. All schools have classes from class one to 8 and the post of one headmaster and 10 assistant teachers is approved in all schools. There used to be a teacher for horticulture who is not in any school today. Bapu’s dream in schools remained unfulfilled due to lack of teachers and exhausted all resources for skill development.

Model and teacher restoration plans stuck in files

To make Bapu’s dream come true, the education department of the state government had planned to make basic schools a model school. In order to strengthen the education system in the school, regular teachers were appointed in the year 2012.

Restoration was planned, but both plans of the department remained buried in the files. The basic school could not become a model nor teachers were restored.Today, the situation has become such that the condition of basic schools has become pathetic due to the neglectful policy of the department.

It is said that the District Education Officer

District Education Officer Vidyasagar Singh said that the lack of regular teachers in the basic schools of the district is due to lack of restoration. In basic schools, teachers are reinstated from different grades. The education of the state government does not come from the department. The teachers of this school get promotion and become the principal of Block Education Officer and Teacher Training College. Teaching system is being run by deputation of teachers employed in basic schools.
