Higher Education Ranking: Jamia University’s position improves in Times Higher Education Rankings

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been ranked 180th in the London-based Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2021. Last year, Jamia was ranked 198th in this ranking. The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings assessed the performance of 551 universities across 30 countries on the same 13 performance indicators and parameters.

World University Rankings are meant to reflect the characteristics of institutions in Asia. In order to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparison available, the universities were judged in all their core missions such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Jamia has scored maximum marks for its teaching, citation and industry earnings. Jamia has consistently maintained its rank in the World University Rankings as well. It has improved its position in the recently announced The World University Rankings 2021.

Vice Chancellor gave information

While thanking all the colleagues and staff for this achievement, Professor Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of Jamia University said, “It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for the University. This reflects the hard work of the teachers and other staff, which is being recognized internationally. Jamia will continue its efforts to further improve its ranking in the coming years.”

Improvements in the last few years

Vice-Chancellor Professor Najma Akhtar said that Jamia has been continuously improving its national and international rankings in the last few years. The university was ranked 751-800 in the QS World University Rankings 2020 and 203 in the QS Asia Rankings 2020. Jamia has been ranked 10th among the universities of the country in the NIRF 2020 ranking.
