The online meeting of the Project Approval Board of the Strengthening Teaching Learning and Results for States (STARS) project was held on Thursday. The state education department has sent a DPR of Rs 141 crore to the central government under this project. The central government has started this project to improve education in six special states. Himachal Pradesh has also been included in this. In an online meeting on Thursday, the education officers of the state apprised the central officials about their DPR. Told that the facilities in the schools will be increased from the budget received under the STARS project. Facilities will be provided in government schools on the lines of private schools.

Pre-primary schools will be strengthened. Special campaigns will be run to increase the number of children. More and more computer systems will be installed in government schools. Teachers training centers will be modernized. There will be changes in teacher training. New methods will be adopted for collecting MIS data. The scope of vocational education will be expanded. Apart from Himachal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha and Maharashtra have been included in the STARS scheme. Departmental officials said that soon the meeting of the Project Approval Board will be held in New Delhi. DPR has been sent by the state now. In the coming days, only after a detailed discussion in this matter, the state will get information about the budget.
