Candidates age should be 50 years for S.No-01 & 02, between 18-30 years for S.No-03 to 08 as on 28-09-2015. Age relaxation is applicable up to 05 years for SC/ ST, 03 years of EBC (MBC)/ BC and 03 years for all categories of Female Candidates.
Candidates should have Medical qualification as included in schedule I & II of MCI Act, Recognized P.G qualification of MD/ MS in specialization concerned or allied Surgical/ Medical specialty & M. Ch. for Surgical Super-specialities and D.M. for Medical Super specialities, Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognised University/ Board for S.No-03 & 06, M. A. with specialized training/Ph.D. in psychology/ or any other equivalent qualification for S.No-04, First Class Diploma in Electronics/Bio-Medical Engineering from a recognized Institute/ Polytech. with two years experience in a Medical Institution or reputed organization for S.No-05, 8th Standard pass from a recognised School/ Board for S.No-07, B.Sc. in Ophthalmic Techniques or equivalent from recognised University/ Institution for S.No-08.
Selection will be based on interview.

Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences was established on 19 November 1983 as an autonomous organisation on the pattern of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The estimated budget was 1.10 billion rupees which was later revised to 133 Crores. It is one of the main health care institutions in the state ofBihar. It is the only superspecialist institute of Bihar. The institute provides education in medicine and conducts health and medicinal research.It got affiliation of medical college from MCI in September 2011. It has 100 MBBS seat. First batch started from October 2011.It is 3rd medical college in patna and 10th in bihar. It is recognised to provide degree of MBBS, MD, MS, M.Ch, DM, DNB and various paramedical degrees. On 12 July 2013, Medical Council of India (MCI) granted permission to IGIMS, Patna, to admit 100 students for its MBBS course in academic session 2013-14.
The 3rd largest population and 13th largest state of India, Bihar is located in East part of the country. It is covering the area of 94,163 square kilometers. The length of city is 35 kilometres and 16-18 kilometres wide. For ease of starting a business, the World Bank ranked Patna as second city in India, in June 2009. During ancient time Patna was known as “Patliputr”, which ws the capital of the Magadha Empire.
