In Chhattisgarh’s Government Physiotherapy College, 10% students are leaving the seat after taking admission

Half the manpower work is going on in the only government physiotherapy college of the state even after 19 years. Due to this, where education was getting affected. The proposal is also hanging with the state government regarding 20 PG seats. Here the college management told that after recruitment to the seats of physiotherapy, about 10 percent students leave the seat every year. Actually, children keep preparing for selection in NEET. After getting admission in MBBS leave the seat. Some children have personal reasons.

According to the information received, the Government Physiotherapy College of Raipur was started in 2002. In this, the posts were approved only on the basis of 50 graduation seats. In this too, only half the posts were recruited in the initial time. It is almost two decades now. The situation in the college is similar. Officials of the department said that many posts like Principal, Professor Physiotherapy, Assistant Professor, Demonstrator, Occupational Therapist have not been filled here yet.

Here, on the basis of need, five-five PG seats have to be allowed in each of the four departments of Orthopedic, Rehabilitation, Neurology, Cardio Respiratory. But for PG seats, it is necessary to first be recruited to the posts like Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor. A proposal has also been sent regarding this.

Principal in-charge of Government Physiotherapy College, Dr. Rohit Rajput said that a proposal has been sent to the state government for the recruitment of posts. The process is also going on to open 20 PG seats. But before that the faculty has to be recruited. All these processes have to be done at the government level itself.
