Nellore District Fisheries Department (NDFD) is the Department of Fisheries was using the Madras Fisheries Manual part I and II which deals with the administration and running of the Fish curing yards run by the Department of Andhra Pradesh embodying corrections upto 30th April, 1963. It is proposed to prepare new Fisheries Departmental Manual and Functionary Manual separately incorporating changes that have occured in the duties of the functionaries of the department.

It is the tenth largest state which has population of approximate inhabitants of 8.46 crores, out of which 4,24,42,146 are male and 4,21,38,631 are females, ratio of the state is 993 and literacy rate is 67.02% as per census 2011. Telugu is the official language of Andhra Pradesh. It is rich in culture in terms of worships, literature, arts, music, spicy cuisine, architecture, dance and literature. The state experiences monsoon climate all throughout the year. Hyderabad is mainly famous for its Char Minar. Bollywood actress Tabu belongs to Hyderabad.

Nellore district is located in Coastal Andhra region.It is one of the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. It is also Known as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district. The population of the district according to the Census 2011 was 2,966,082 of which 29.07% were urban.
