Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Degree in Ayurveda chary (BAMS) from a recognized University, M.D.(AY)/M.S.(AY) in any discipline from any recognized University, Should be registered with Central/ State council of Indian Medicine.

Age Limit: Candidates age limit should be Up to 50 years as on the date of interview.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in interview /test.

The North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong, Meghalaya is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The Institute is coming up on a plot of land measuring 20 Acres adjacent to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) at Mawdiangdiang, Shillong, Meghalaya. The Union Cabinet in its meeting held on 27th March, 2008 accorded approval to establish North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy at Shillong to provide health care to the people of NE Region and Sikkim under Ayurveda and Homoeopathy systems of medicine; moreover, to promote and popularize the Ayurveda and Homoeopathy and to create awareness among the general masses regarding the importance, effectiveness and potentials of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy.

Shillong is the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as “The Abode of Clouds”, one of the smallest states in India. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average of 4,908 feet (1,496 m) above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet (1,966 m). Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according to the 2011 census. Shillong is at 25.57°N 91.88°E. The city lies in the Centre of the plateau and is surrounded by hills. In shillong the monsoons arrive in June and it rains almost until the end of August. October–November and March–April are the best months to visit Shillong.

Meghalaya is the north-east Indian state. In Sanskrit the name means “the abode of clouds”. 2,964,007 is the total population of the state 1,492,668 females and males 1,471,339 and in terms of population Meghalaya is the 23rd state of the country. Shillong is the capital of the country. Meghalaya covers an area of approximately 22,430 square kilometers, with a length to breadth ratio of about 3:1.  Meghalaya is surrounded by Assam and Bangladesh in the North and South and south respectively. Meghalaya is the wettest place on earth English is the official and widely spoken language of the state, the other principal languages in Meghalaya are Khasi and Garo. Around 70 percent of the people in Meghalaya practice Christianity as their religion, around 13 percent practice Hinduism while 4 % practice Islam. The best time to visit Meghalaya is the months between March and July. Nongkrem Dance, Wangala and Behdienkhlam are the major festivals in Meghalaya.
