New disclosure of irregularity in the education system of Bihar, teachers were given trained pay scale without any training

This is the latest news highlighting the education system of Bihar. Trained Pay Scale to Untrained Teachers in primary schools of the state from class one to five have also been paid to those who have not done government-run enrichment course. The number of such teachers is said to be more than 10 thousand. The Department of Education, calling it a case of financial irregularity, has summoned reports from all the districts and sought clarification from the officials responsible for it.

The education department has asked the block education officers and school under-inspectors of the districts to report how many such teachers, who have been given trained salary without doing enrichment courses. According to the provisions of the National Council of Teacher Education, the basic qualification of B.Ed candidates in basic grades from class one to five is to be employed as an untrained teacher on the basis of intermediate (12th) qualification.

Irregularity exposed in compliance with the provision

In order to comply with the provision, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Singh, Director of Primary Education has a clear order that teachers of basic grades of classes one to five, who are B.Ed., B.Ed.-Special or D.Ed. degree holders in the planning units and complete the six-month enrichment course Having done so, they will be paid the trained pay scale from the date of passing the promotion. Districts have been directed against this provision to keep the teachers who are included in the trained salary, in the category of untrained pay scale.
