Notice issued on computer teachers, sacking and non-payment of salary to the throat of Chandigarh Education Department

Computer teachers are seen to be becoming the throat of the Chandigarh Education Department. There are about 45 hundred teachers in 114 government schools of the Education Department, of which 155 are computer teachers.

A contempt notice has been issued by the Education Department for expulsion of computer teachers from work and for not giving four months salary to teachers. The first contempt notice for removal from work was issued to the department in October 2020, while the second one was issued on 6 January 2021. It is noteworthy that computer teachers were appointed in the schools of the city in the years 2003 and 2004.

Even after giving affidavit, Mukra Department

In the year 2013, the Education Department had fired some teachers working on the contract, in response to which the Department had given an affidavit in writing to the Central Administrative Tribunal Batch (CAT), until regular recruitment in place of Contract Computer Teachers. , Teachers will not be removed from work. Despite this, on October 1, the Education Department gave oral orders to the Principal and relieved the computer teachers from the orders of the Principal. Teachers then take refuge with Kat. CAT has issued a contempt notice to the department regarding the affidavit given in the year 2013 and has sought its response, whose case is still going on.

Worked but not paid salary

The dispute of teachers fired on October 1 began in June 2020 when the contractor who worked with the teachers through the Gem portal was replaced. The teachers accused the changed contractor that he was being demanded for money to stay on duty. The department did not take any action against the contractor and stopped the salary of the teachers. Worked from teachers from June to September 2020 and then fired him. 

In the case of being fired from the first teachers, a case was filed in CAT,along with that the second case was put on salary. Hearing this, CAT instructed the education department to release the salary for the four months worked on October 21. If the salary was not released for two months, the teachers again approached CAT and CAT has now issued a second notice to the department.

Top officials of the department have no response

When the second contempt notice was issued, Director School Education Rubinderjit Singh Brar was spoken to, instead of giving any firm response to the matter, he said that I am considering the matter. The matter will be resolved soon.
