Preparation to increase TGT promotion quota from JBT to 30 percent in Himachal, know the plan of Education Department

JBT Promote Quota is a preparation to increase the promotion quota of JBT working in government schools of the state. As per the existing Recruitment and Promotion (R&P) rules, the promotion quota of JBTs is 15 per cent. This can be increased to 30 percent. The issue was discussed in detail in a meeting held with the Government Primary Teachers Association last week. Despite the pressure of the union, the Department of Elementary Education is going to send this proposal to the Personnel Department. If the Personnel Department gives a positive response on this, then the department will take further action in this matter.

Ashok Kumar Sharma, General Secretary, Government Primary Teachers Association said that this issue has been raised prominently in the meeting. Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur has assured that its proposal will be prepared and sent to the Personnel Department. Hopefully the government will take a decision on this soon.

There are 25,162 JBT teachers

JBT, TGT, C&V, PGT, Lecturer New and other categories of teachers are employed in the Education Department. The teachers have a cadre of 80 thousand. In this, the cadre strength of JBT teachers is 25,162. JBT has the largest cadre after TGT. Teachers’ organizations have been demanding to increase the promotion quota for a long time.
