After a long wait and repeated requests on social media by the students, finally the Punjab government has also announced the cancellation of the class 12 examinations of the state board. Punjab Education Minister Vijay Injar Singla informed about this decision taken by the state government on Saturday, 19 June 2021. Education informed that the decision to cancel PSEB 12th Board Exam 2021 was taken after getting the permission of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. The education minister said, “It was also necessary to take a decision on the 12th examinations at this time because students and their parents across the state were worried about admission for higher studies.”

Result will be declared by July 31 on CBSE pattern

Along with this, the Punjab Education Minister also informed about the Evaluation Criteria for the preparation of Punjab 12th Result 2021.  He shared the information that PSEB 12th Result 2021 will be declared on CBSE pattern.  It is worth noting that the CBSE Senior Secondary Evaluation Criteria has been issued recently, according to which the marks of the students of 10th, 11th and 12th classes will be added to prepare the class 12 result.  Accordingly, in preparing the Punjab Board Class 12 Result 2021, 30 percent weightagewill be given to the marks of 10th board exams, 30 percent to 11th exams and 40 percent weightage to 12th pre-board and internal assessment. In this, students should note that out of the 5 main subjects of their class 10th, the board will add the marks of only the best 3 subjects. Also, the result will be announced by 31 July 2021.

Affected more than three lakh students

The Punjab Education Minister, while sharing information on the state government’s decision on board examinations, said that 3,08,000 students had registered for this year’s class 12 exams. These include the number of students of government, aided and private schools.
