Sainik School Nagrota was initially started in the present Chenab House with classes from VI to VIII before becoming a full-fledged and progressive campus in the later years. Being 18th in the chronology of Sainik School, this premier institution was inaugurated on 22 Aug, 1970 by the then Defence Minister Late Shri Jagjivan Ram. The founder Principal of the School was Cdr (IN) N.N. Seth.
