DEO Manoj Kumar has ordered all BEOs to complete the formation of the Vidyalaya Shiksha Samiti in all elementary schools of the district by June. All the BEOs have been ordered to set the date of formation of VSS and meet the deadline and due date. This initiative has been taken at the behest of the State Office of Bihar Education Project Campus.

The BEO has been ordered to re-constitute the VSS by June, with a view to maintain continuity in the school’s work by the school education committees which have completed three years or are due to be completed by June. . The tenure of VSS in elementary schools was extended to March 2021 at the state level meeting of January 4, 2021 due to the ill effects of Covid 19.

What is a school education committee:

For the proper development of the school, each elementary school set up, controlled and held by the local authority has a 17-member committee. This committee comprises a minimum of 50% mothers. The ward member of the ward in which the school is held is the ex-officio chairman of this committee.

How many members of which community:

Mothers of the students of the school are members in this committee. Their number is nine. In this, backward class, extremely backward class, scheduled caste, scheduled caste, general class, two members from all classes and one member are the mother of a disabled child. Similarly, there are two, student representative members as two members of the livelihood group. Among them, one student is from Meena Manch and one student is from Bal Sansad. But the student representative does not have the right to vote. The school consists of a senior teacher, HM ex-officio member of the school, and a coordinating member of the school and a landowner member of the school.

Selection Process:

Members are elected by consensus or by majority vote under the supervision of the cluster coordinator by calling the general assembly of parents, guardians of children enrolled in the school on the due date in the presence of the school’s coordinator coordinated by the school’s HM. The secretary of a committee is selected from these selected members. After selection, the proceedings register of the committee is submitted to the BRC. This committee becomes effective after registration.

Powers of committee:

Monitoring the operation of the school, connecting 100% of the children in the age group of six to 14 years in the nutritious area of ​​the school to the mainstream of education, obtaining public contribution in the construction and maintenance of the school, necessary for the arrangement of MDM Making decisions and supervising, taking care that teachers are not engaged in non-academic work. There are many types of responsibilities related to the development of the school including the habitual absence of teachers, harassment of the child, insulting or discriminating the committee after proper research and sending the report to the competent authority.

School Education Development Fund:

In each school a fund is created in the name of VSS fund. All funds for school development will be deposited in the account of this fund. The account has to be done with the joint signature of the Chairman, Secretary and HM or Head Teacher of the school.

VSS elections to be held in the last week of April in Rahui:
