Education Minister Lalchandama Ralte said that classes for students in all schools from kindergarten to twelfth grade will be suspended as corona virus infection is likely to increase during winter.

Significantly, schools and other educational institutions have been closed since March to prevent infection with the corona virus. However, regular classes were resumed from October 16 for tenth and twelfth grade students.

Those who were later suspended again after eight days. The education minister of the state said that a temporary schedule to reopen the schools has been kept on 15 January next year. The education department of the province has decided to continue online classes from December 18 this year, while online classes will be continued from January 5 to 14 next year. There will be a 30 percent reduction in syllabus for students of class X and XII.
