Eligible candidates, who have been dreaming of becoming teachers in government schools for a quarter of a year, staged a protest in front of the bungalow of Minister of State for School Education Inder Singh Parmar on Monday. The minister was not met, but the protest was called off following assurances from officials here. About 60 selected teachers from several districts of the state reached the capital’s depot intersection and went on a peace march to the minister’s bungalow.

The department has not recruited teachers in the government schools of the state after 2013. Shivraj Sarkar conducted MP Teacher Eligibility Test 2018 after nearly eight years of battling shortage of teachers for a long time. After this, the Congress government came and announced the result in September 2019.

Under this, about 40 thousand teachers were to be appointed in the state, But the Department of School Education had approved about 21 thousand posts. With this, the School Education Department also started the recruitment process from 1 January 2020.

For this, verification of the documents of the provisioning list and waiting list candidates from 1 July 2020 also started, which was continued till 3 July 2020. But due to Corona, the rule stopped it which has not started yet. Due to this, there is resentment among the teachers and they opened a front against the government. Angry candidates said why the joining dates are not being announced so far. He said that more than a year has passed since the result of the teacher eligibility test was released in Madhya Pradesh. Despite this, no candidate has been appointed till date. Our only demand is that we be told the time of our appointment.

Will perform today for permanent recruitment on vacant posts

The Swami Vivekananda Jayanti will be performed by the Teachers’ Eligibility Test Association on Tuesday for the recruitment of permanent teachers on all vacant posts in the capital Bhopal on National Youth Day. Union President Ranjit Gaur says that there is a demand from time to time for the recruitment of permanent teachers to the vacant posts by the candidates who have passed the teacher eligibility test but have not recruited any permanent teacher. Due to this, protests will be held in the capital to demand the recruitment of permanent teachers in vacant posts of School Education Department and Primitive Caste Department.
