Sikkim PGCIL Recruitment for Field Engineer 2015. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) invites application for the post of Field Engineer.
Field engineers can work in a variety of jobs. They are specialists employed at companies that offer services to clients, and they usually work in the field, which is to say on locations owned by the client and not the company at which they are employed. The locations can range from various production facilities and plants to oil fields. Field engineers’ job title is not defined by a particular set of skills, but by the fact that they do not work at their company office. In the field, they can act as service representatives, oversee operations, install equipment and maintain and repair the existing one, or supervise all engineering operations at any given location.

Qualification: Candidates applying for the post of Field Engineer should have BE / B.Tech / B.Sc. in engineering / BE in power engineering in civil engineering / electrical engineering from recognized university / institute with minimum 55% marks.

Age Limit: The age of the Candidates applying for the post of Field Engineer should be 29 years as on 3rd June 2015.

Age Relaxation:
i) By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.

ii) By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
iii) By 10 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.

Pay Scale: Rs 30000 – 33000/- Per Month

Selection Procedure:- Selection of the Candidates applying for the post of Field Engineer  will be  selected on the basis of written Exam and Personal Interview.

Application Fee:- Candidates applying for the post of Field Engineer are required to pay application fee Rs 200/- for Field supervisor and RS 300/- for Field engineer through Demand draft in the favor of Power Grid corporation of India limited payable at Kolkata.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) was incorporated on October 23, 1989 under the Companies Act, 1956 with an authorized share capital of Rs. 5,000 Crore (subsequently enhanced to Rs. 10,000 Crore in Financial Year (FY) 2007-08) as a public limited company, wholly owned by the Government of India. Its original name was the ‘National Power Transmission Corporation Limited’, and it was charged with planning, executing, owning, operating and maintaining high-voltage transmission systems in the country. On 8 November 1990, the National Power Transmission Corporation received its Certificate for Commencement of Business. Their name was subsequently changed to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, which took effect on October 23, 1992. POWERGRID started functioning on management basis with effect from August, 1991 and subsequently it took over transmission assets from NTPC, NHPC, NEEPCO, NLC, NPC, THDC, SJVNL etc. in a phased manner and it commenced commercial operation in 1992-93. In addition to this, it also took over the operation of existing Regional Load Dispatch Centers (RLDCs) from Central Electricity Authority (CEA), in a phased manner from 1994 to 1996, which have been upgraded and modernized with State of-the-art Unified Load Dispatch and Communication (ULDC) schemes. Consequently, National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC) was established in 2009 for overall coordination at National level.

Sikkim is a small state in northwest India, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal, Part of the Himalayas, the area has a dramatic landscape including India’s highest mountain, 8,586m Kanchenjunga. Sikkim was founded on May 15, 1975. Gangtok is the Capital of the state. Total population of the state is 619.000 as per census of 2012. The sex ratio is 889 females per 1,000 males, with a total of 321,661 males and 286,027 females as per census of 2011. The state has five seasons: winter, summer, spring, autumn, and a monsoon season between June and September. Sikkim is also home to glaciers, alpine meadows and thousands of varieties of wildflowers. Steep paths lead to hilltop Buddhist monasteries such as Pemayangtse, which dates to the early 1700s. Temperature of the state seldom exceeds 28 °C (82 °F) in summer and the average annual temperature for most of Sikkim is around 18 °C (64 °F). Sikkim is one of the few states in India to receive regular snowfall. Sikkim’s nominal state gross domestic product (GDP) was estimated at US$1.57 billion in 2014, constituting the third-smallest GDP among India’s 28 states. States largely economy is based on Farming of Rice and cultivation of crops. Nepali is the official language of the state and in most of the areas Hindi, English is also spoken.
