The State Bank of India (SBI) has ended the application process for PO Recruitment 2017 on March 6 and the bank is likely to schedule the online preliminary exams on April 29 & 30 and May 6 & 7 to recruit 2,313 Probationary Officers. So, now the time has come to focus on preparation for the prelims.

It is said that, success in most of the examinations depends on your preparation apart from your mental ability and interest. To crack the examination, first you need to understand the pattern of the exam finely then make your strategy to crack it.

The preliminary examination consist 100 questions in three sections. The English section contains 30 questions while Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability include 35 questions each. Each question carries one mark and 0.25 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. A candidate must crack the sectional cut off then the overall cut off to clear the prelims.

The aspirants are advisable to practice the online mocks to get an idea of the exam pattern. There are several websites which provide mock test free or for a nominal fee. The practice will help you to get habituated of solving computer based question papers. Due to the shortage of time, it may be difficult to solve all the questions in the examination hall, so the aspirants are advisable to answer only familiar question to avoid mistakes and save time as both are the keys to crack any examination.

You should work on your reading speed as it is the key to score good marks in any online examination. Aspirants are advisable to improve the reading skills as it will be helpful for you in English section also. To enhance your reading skills, read newspapers, novels every day.

The experts advice to avoid the guesswork as it results in more negative marks. It is always better to stick to questions for which you are sure about the answer.

The question paper will include 100 questions in total and you have to solve them in 60 minutes. The duration may be less to solve all the questions, so you are advisable to learn the art of choosing question wisely. It will help you to not invest your time in questions which take more time.

The aspirants are also advisable to do section-wise preparation as you need to clear each section. Make a strategy to practice for each section and if you are good in one section then focus on the other two, it will help you to crack the cut off of each section.
