We always discard the leftover coffee ground after brewing our morning cup, but instead of discarding it we can use them in a useful and effective way. As coffee grounds are worth using if you know how to use them. Here are four smart ways to use them:
Deodorize your refrigerator- As the aroma of the coffee is so strong enough to neutralize other smells, it also works as an effective deodorizer. To get rid of prolonged food smells in your refrigerator, just place an open container of used coffee grounds in the corner of one of the shelves.
Garden Compost- Coffee grounds are rich in nitrogen and can be used as an excellent garden composite pile. Just simply mix the leftover grounds with grass trimmings and use it as compost. Avoid freshly brewed grounds and they need some time to break down in the compost and work.
Make your own body scrub- Coffee grounds provide excellent exfoliation for the skin especially when mixed with other natural ingredients such as coconut oil, honey and lemon. Take 2-3 tablespoons of coffee grounds and mix it honey and lemon or you can also add rose water to it. Apply this mixture on your face and body and after 10 minutes wash it water and you will have a glowing and smooth skin.
Scrub away the grease from dirty utensils- The polishing or cleaning quality of coffee powder can be a plus point when it comes to cleaning greasy pots, pans or dirty utensils. Take a few coffee grounds and a scrubbing pad to remove all the stains and oil from utensils. Avoid using it with non-stick pans or pots.
