This is how the IIT students are helping India to fight against COVID-19


Three alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) have built a drone equipped with an infrared camera that can conduct thermal checks of people without human intervention. It is so effective that COVID-19 can also identify suspected patients in the initial phase. Students said that a loudspeaker has also been installed in this drone, which can be used to monitor suspicious places as well as give necessary instructions.Team member Prem Kumar Vislavath said that there is a possibility of danger of infection in the personnel while measuring the temperature of the people. So they have invented a drone with an infrared camera. By which people can be prevented from growing the infection. He told that during the Lockdown drones are being used for many purposes including sending food and medicines.Sooraj Peddi, another member of this team said that this drone camera can be used to measure body temperature. Although the results are encouraging, it is necessary to state that this solution is not designed to be used in standard medical procedures. At the same time, the third member of the team Sai Kumar Chinthala said that when countries around the world are implementing various measured due to lockdown because of this global epidemic, in such a situation, drones have emerged as a good option. According to the Union Health Ministry, 56 people have died in the country due to COVID-19 infection and 2,301 people are infected with it.
