Corona virus has had the biggest impact on the education system. In the midst of the second wave of Corona, where the board examinations have been canceled in almost all the states, the same universities and colleges are also closed. In such a situation, students and professors are engaged in completing the syllabus in some way through online studies.

Due to the lockdown caused by the corona virus, it has become difficult for people to go out, so research and field work has also been affected a lot. Research of field work is a very important part of higher education in the university. Professors of various colleges and universities of the country have spoken about the education system affected due to Corona. It has been told what will be the impact on the career of students due to the problem in online classes and lack of facilities like research and field work.

research is very important

Under the new education policy in the country, the university has prepared a framework for designing courses for the new session. In this, research and development has been described as an important part. In such a situation, Professor Manoj Rai at the Center for Gandhi and Peace Studies at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha says, “As much as a lab is necessary for a researcher of science, field work and library are equally important for a researcher of arts and social sciences. . Without this research is not possible. He said that in Banaras Hindu University, the library used to be closed for 6-8 hours in the night, then the students used to agitate. Right now the library is completely closed. In such a situation, the loss of the student can be estimated.

Online class increased cost

MP Ahirwar, Professor, Department of Ancient History and Archeology of India at Banaras Hindu University, says, “Ground work is very important for my subject, but nothing has been happening for the last one year.” According to MP Ahirwar, there is also an economic side to the students being affected by the epidemic. Online classes have increased the cost of education, which has hit the poorest and rural students the most. He told that, an average smartphone in which 4G internet works, its cost is more than 7000 rupees. Then if we take online classes of 180 minutes for the students throughout the day, then they will need more than 1 GB of data. For which they will have to spend more than 500 rupees a month.

Studying is not being done through online class

DK Mishra, a professor in the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, says, “There are more than 60 children in my class. Neither can you give everyone a chance to ask questions online, nor can you get their doubts on any topic by looking at everyone’s faces. In such a situation, the experience of teaching has become like a monologue. Ask yourself questions, answer yourself. Students are also bored with this and now they have started asking when will the offline classes start.

no plan worked

Looking at the current situation, student Utkarsh Bhagat says, “There is a lot of pressure on children to study in class 10th, 12th in India. In such a situation, they leave sports and other hobbies in these classes and study only. They think that when they go to college, they will start sports, arts or theater again, but for two years this has remained a dream. Without all these things the experience of studying online is becoming very boring.”
