Teachers of government schools banned from teaching in private coaching institutes

The  Education Department has become active to implement a complete ban on teachers of government schools in Jammu and Kashmir from teaching in private coaching institutes under the Right to Education Act. After becoming a Union Territory, the Right to Education Act of the Center has been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.

This law provides that teachers of government schools cannot teach in private coaching institutes. Educational institutions have been closed for more than ten months due to the situation arising out of Corona. The Education Department has directed all Chief Education Officers to ensure that government teachers in private educational institutions are not able to provide coaching as teachers of government schools are prohibited from teaching in private coaching institutes under the Central Education Rights Act. If a teacher is found teaching in private coaching institutes then strict action will be taken against him.

Director of School Education Department, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta said that we have instructed all the Chief Education Officers to issue a notification that Central Education Rights Act has been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, hence there is a ban on teaching in private coaching institutes. On the other hand, the Director of the Kashmir School Education Department has also issued the order.

The Chief Education Officer of Srinagar has also issued an order saying that the department will take strict action against those teachers who give coaching in private coaching institutes. There is a provision of free education to children in government schools under the Right to Education Act. Salary issuing officers will also issue certificates that teachers are not providing private coaching.
