Tripura University Recruitment for JRF Walk-In 2015. Tripura University has invited applications for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow vacancies for the project entitled “Understanding dioecy by exploring Floral Organ Identity Genes (OIGs) in Coecinia grandis- a new model for study”.
Junior Research fellow is a person appointed to produce high quality reports, academic papers and journal articles of data. He works independently and autonomously on a number of research and policy projects. He manages external relationship with funders and other stakeholders. A research fellow may act either as an independent investigator or under the supervision of a principal investigator.

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for the post of JRF should possess M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology with at least 55% marks and qualify in NET/ GATE.

Tripura University is the main public/central government university of the Indian state of Tripura. Tripura University ranked 4th position in Eastern and 43rd position in all India. Tripura University was launched on October 2, 1987.The state’s first institution of higher education, MBB College, had commenced functioning from 1947 with affiliation from Calcutta University but in the immediate aftermath of partition the population of the state registered a steep growth and so did the number of students aspiring for higher education. The new campus of Tripura University is situated at Suryamaninagar, 10 km away from the city center of Agartala. Tripura University provides post-graduate courses in sixteen subjects while the various Departments, Directorates and Centres within it provide 38 degree courses. All twenty four general and technical colleges, within the state, are affiliated with Tripura University.

Tripura is a state in Northeast India. In Sanskrit Tripura means “three cities”. State has a population of 3,671,032 including 1,871,867 males and 1,799,165 females as per census of 2011. The sex ratio of the state is 961 females per thousand males; More than 50% of the population depends on agriculture to sustain their livelihood. According to 2001 Planning Commission assessment, 22 per cent population of the state is below the poverty line. Tripura is famous for bamboo and cane handicrafts. State has many magnificent palaces like: (Ujjayanta Palace and Kunjaban Palace at Agartala and Neermahal – Lake Palace at Melaghar) for tourists and important temples of Hindus and Buddhists and the famous Mata Tripureswari temple. Football and cricket are the most popular sports in the state.Only one major road, the National Highway 44 (NH-44), connects Tripura to the rest of India. The third-smallest state in the country it covers 10,491 km2 (4,051 sq. mi) and is bordered by Bangladesh. The state has a tropical savanna climate during the monsoon season; the south west monsoon brings heavy rains, which cause frequent floods.
