UP Basic Education: 150 councilors sacked in four years

In the last four years, about 150 teachers from the primary and upper primary schools of the Basic Education Council have been dismissed. There are 75 to 80 teachers who were absent for a long time and did not reach to defend themselves despite notice.

At the same time, there are more than 61 teachers who got jobs with the help of fake certificates. The dismissal action was taken on the basis of the verification report of the institutions whose certificates were put up by these fake teachers. On 28 April 2019, Basic Education Officer Sanjay Kumar Kushwaha instructed the Block Education Officers to conduct an FIR against 61 fake teachers.

In October 2020, 9 teachers were relieved due to long absence. Rama Singh, an assistant teacher at the former Secondary School, Onur Uruva, who was working on the basis of two PAN cards, was dismissed on 23 September 2020.
